Overview:

The Software Engineer intern will assist with various software engineer projects and gain hands-on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges and develop their skills in a professional setting. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and contribute to the success of the company, and you will receive mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of software applications. This may include developing custom tools, scripts, and software solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct testing and debugging of software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability. Document test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and maintain software for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making processes.
  • System Integration: Assist in integrating software solutions with existing systems and machinery. Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different systems.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of software designs, code, test procedures, and test results. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and production managers, to understand software requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Research: Conduct research on new software technologies, development tools, and methodologies to support the development of innovative software solutions

Requirements :

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of software development principles, programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, QT, agile, CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with software development tools (e.g., Linux, Git, Github, VS Code, Docker).
  • In addition, classwork and/or experience with IIOT, AWS, MQTT, nosql databases (Influxdb), JSON data structures, UI development and web development is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively convey technical information.
  • Experience: Prior internship or project experience in software development is a plus but not required.
  • Detail-Oriented: Pays attention to details and ensures accuracy in work.
  • Motivated: Eager to learn and take on new challenges. Shows initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Team Player: Works well with others and contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Adaptable: Able to adjust to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Hourly compensation during the internship: $15-$30.
