**Position Summary...** About The Walmart Supply Chain Finance Data Science Team Walmart's Supply Chain Finance Data Science Team performs an important role providing data science and optimization modeling that supports financial forecasting, strategy, and decision making for our Walmart US Supply Chain and Store Operations Finance and Strategy Teams. Our Data Science Team creates code, identifies relevant data sources, analyzes data, and applies advanced statistical methods and optimization techniques for our Labor Workforce Allocation, Annual Operating Plan, and Long-Range Plan. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Finance Data Science, you will be responsible for understanding business problems, analyzing data, designing and implementing technical solutions, and providing insights and recommendations. You will collaborate with senior team members and business stakeholders to help redefine how our Finance Teams forecast and plan for our supply chain operations. **What you'll do:** + **Develop Insightful Solutions** for financial forecasting and streamlining operational decision-making. + **Provide Relevant Data Sources and Analysis** for Finance Strategy Models for Supply Chain Operations by understanding business context, combining industry knowledge and market information specific to supply chain, logistics, and our retail businesses. + **Use New Technology and Data Explanation Formats** to improve finance processes. + **Present Recommendations to Leadership** with compelling narratives and thoughtful visualizations to gain their buy-in. **What you'll bring:** + **4+ years of experience** in Data Science, Optimization, or Data Analytics, preferably with exposure to finance or supply chain operations within a large corporate environment. + Proficiency with coding (Python, Java, C++, etc.), querying large datasets, building data pipelines, providing data insights and solutions, and adhering to data quality standards. + Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences. + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and comfort navigating ambiguity. _The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
