**Description** We are currently seeking **Roving Utility Arborist/Forester** to support hazard tree assessments and other vegetation management planning projects throughout the western United States. As a Roving Utility Arborist/Utility Forester your office is the great outdoors! We keep the lights on anywhere there is a power line - whether in the city, the rural countryside, or deep in the remote forest. As an ArborMetrics Forester, you will keep communities informed about the trees and power lines while ensuring safe delivery of their power. **Job Type:** Full Time, Seasonal. **Location:** On the road, roving work in the following states: WA, ID, MT, OR, CA. **Travel:** Travel Required: meals and lodging reimbursement apply, up to $900/week. **Schedule:** Up to 60-hour work week (up to 20 hours of OT/week). **Pay:** The pay range for this position is from $26.00 to $42.00 per hour, contingent upon relevant education, experience, and industry-specific certifications. This specified range is determined by the tier associated with the job posting. However, should the employee be classified under a different tier, the compensation may fall outside the stated range. **WHAT WE OFFER:** + Industry competitive pay. + Company vehicle with fuel card to take to and from home & work. + Medical/Health/Dental/Vision/VOYA/Vacation Accrual/Paid Holidays/EAP eligibility on day one of employment (Full-Time Employees). + 401K, life insurance, long-term disability eligibility first of the month after 3 months of service. + Sick Time eligibility on day 90 of employment. + Weekly pay checks and direct deposit. + Participation in Employee Referral Program (must meet eligibility requirements). + Boot and clothing program (company funded). + Ongoing training and assistance with obtaining industry certifications. **WHAT YOU WILL DO:** + Inspect power line rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities based on client specifications + Maintenance planning activities including machine work, herbicide application, capital projects, and unplanned response work. Worker completes plans thoroughly and with a high level of accuracy. + Perform tree health assessments - Level 1 and Level 2, Tree Risk Assessment + Notify property owners of assessment being performed, when necessary. + Inform property owners of required vegetation management work and obtain necessary permissions + Research and document property ownership for owner notifications + Exhibits experience and skills required to negotiate complaint resolutions + Document and record information with mobile device using GIS software + Operate with the highest level of personal and public safety. + Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners and the general public. Includes responding to emails/phone calls promptly + Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations. + Drive a company vehicle safely to work locations for the organization. + Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. **WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:** + Must have solid tree identification skills and the ability to read maps. + Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail. + Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. + Must have basic computer skills. **WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:** + Current ISA arborist certification + Current ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) certification. + Bachelor's or Associates degree in Forestry, Environmental Science or related field preferred. + Previous Forester/Arboriculture/Tree Care working experience. **WORKING ENVIRONMENT** Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.
