We provide the necessary paved path services, infrastructure and mechanisms to ensure the security of our satellite constellation and to protect the integrity and confidentiality of our customer data. Our team drives the research & development, deployment and operation of several mission-critical security systems and mechanisms. You will work in a start-up like environment, backed by Amazon’s infrastructure to bootstrap security mechanisms, and help instill the security culture in the organization.

As Manager for Security Engineering, you'll manage a diverse team of Security and Systems Engineers to define and continuously maintain the security outcomes across our mission-critical security and trust services supporting Kuiper. You'll lead this team to innovate in Security and PKI, helping drive proposals and processes, deliver security tools and automations.

You will closely collaborate with peer development and security leaders to establish, share and leverage security best practices, tools and capabilities to reduce the overall cost of security. Through proactive partnership with Kuiper business, security and tech teams, they'll strategically influence the right security outcomes, diving into the various sources of issues across our Discovery mechanisms.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
You are adept at establishing durable mechanisms, breaking down complex problems and defining incremental (working backwards) plans to achieve our goals. You'll collaborate and inform at all levels of the organization establishing processes that track our goals, objectives, milestones, progress and risks, and drive organizational alignment on trade-offs and priorities. You are adept at hiring, developing and managing talent, and have experience building and managing high-performance teams.

A day in the life
You'll lead a team that works on all aspects of security and governance across our mission critical services, from discovery across our development and testing mechanisms, controls design and development, and security tabletops to designing solutions in partnership with your partner development teams.

About the team
