The Room Attendant (RA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public space areas, and/or work in the commercial laundry facility, in accordance with brand time, product and placement standards to ensure total guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include delivering on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards; responding to guest complaints, special requests and ensuring corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction; cleaning and servicing assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, etc.; notifying supervisor when service is completed so rooms may be sold or occupied and reporting any room unable to be serviced; monitoring laundry supplies and equipment when assigned to laundry; operating washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines; receiving soiled linens and inspecting for damaged or stained items; folding and storing clean linens and reporting damages; minimizing waste of supplies and amenities; assisting with deep cleaning projects; reporting needed repairs or unsafe conditions; handling lost and found items; promoting teamwork and quality service; ensuring compliance with health and safety laws; and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include some previous housekeeping experience preferred, extended stay industry background preferred, ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred, basic reading, writing and mathematical abilities preferred, physical requirements such as standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, carrying up to 75 pounds, use of commercial cleaning chemicals, and working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
