The Formulation Technician is responsible for the formulation of buffers and reagents using a variety of laboratory equipment to supply the CONL (labeled container) and Kitting manufacturing operations. You will also be responsible for performing in-process testing of materials using pH, conductivity, oxygen analysis, water content, etc. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is part of the Manufacturing team located in Carlsbad, CA and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Conduct chemical or physical laboratory formulations for both the Mass Spectrometry and Capillary Electrophoresis lines. + Perform CONL and Kitting operations as necessary to support the manufacturing team. + Communicate with other team members, team leads, and managers to identify and correct issues, ensure lab cleanliness, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure product quality is to specification. The essential requirements of the job include: + BA/BS degree in a related scientific discipline + A minimum of 1 year of experience in a biotech lab environment or equivalent. + Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes the use of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + Able to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lbs. + Able to stand for extended periods (1 shift). It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + A laboratory utilizing mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis. + An industrial laboratory or manufacturing facility. The hourly range for this role is $ 23.00 - $28.00 per hour . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
