Job Description

Senior Sales Engineer

The newly created Senior Sales Engineer will be committed to driving our client's business, supporting sales and growth of their smart IoT products across customer segments. In this newly created, highly entrepreneurial role, reporting to the Vice President, NAM you will be charged with supporting the Regional Sales Managers as they work to achieve their revenue goals. The successful candidate will interface with the technical and field teams in the U.S. and at the international headquarters and other North American offices. You will be responsible for building demo cases and mock up rooms at tradeshows and customer sites, tracking installations and conducting QC follow up post installation.

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will:

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments and updates in the KNX ecosystem and have the ability to compare and articulate KNX benefits and features compared to existing protocols in the US market.
  • Assist in Identifying target markets, customer segments, key accounts, market trends and competitor activities based on KNX market technical trends for the USA.
  • Support field sales representatives with target customers to provide consultations and presentations to promote and specify KNX in current or future projects. Directly involved in determining job requirements and ensuring that our client meets or exceeds technical specifications.
  • Providing technical support, configuration, and troubleshooting of KNX systems to ensure successful design and well as eventual handover for implementation.
  • Be the primary technical liaison between the HQ OTEC (technical design) team and the US Team for deal support and design, enabling the sales team to provide design BOM and updated pricing for identified deals.
  • In conjunction with the field sales team, maintaining a regular communication with existing and potential customers to provide timely solutions proposals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering (OTEC), and customer support/operations.
  • Lead and present at periodic workshops about building automation solutions with a major focus on technical sales enablement to the field sales team

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Power Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 to 5 years ‘ experience supporting sales for building automation, lightning controls and KNX products in a technical sales, sales support, or sales engineering role
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Field Sales team, crafting custom and targeted proposals and demos for prospective clients
  • Adept at negotiating and engaging customers in a virtual and on-site capacity
  • Recent experience in an environment with green-field and brown-field projects across the U.S.
  • KNX Certificate is preferred
  • History of operating in a highly entrepreneurial environment, where decisions are made quickly and customer engagement is the top priority
  • Acute and demonstrable organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional Verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience at home and/or commercial automation systems is a must
  • Recent experience presenting to Partners and End Users

Compensation: $100k - $150k + bonus commensurate with experience
